Effect of porosity sealing treatments on the corrosion resistance of high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF)-sprayed Fe-based amorphous metallic coatings

► The HVOF sprayed amorphous metallic coatings were sealed by three sealants. ► The uniform corrosion resistance enhanced greatly by three sealed treatments. ► Aluminium phosphate sealant penetrated into the coatings and enhanced the hardness. ► Sodium silicate and cerium salts sealant provided temporary corrosion protection. ► The stability of passive film affected the long-term corrosion behaviour.
