Automated quantitative 3D analysis of faceting of particles in tomographic datasets

► We developed a method for automatic analysis of faceting of particles in tomograms. ► The analysis is independent of the imaging method and applicable to any 3D dataset. ► It can be applied to e.g. FIB, TEM, neutron or x-ray tomograms. ► Analyses of individual particles as well as ensembles of particles are possible. ► Method demonstrated on a FIB tomogram of partially faceted spinel particles.
