Pseudodynamic approach for computation of seismic passive earth resistance including seepage

► Seismic passive earth resistance including seepage is computed using pseudodynamic method. ► Two cases with regards to seepage are considered, and from the results, the critical of the two is ascertained. ► Simple, easy to use equations for calculating seismic passive earth pressure coefficients are developed. ► Effects of the shear and primary waves and time of the earthquake are considered. ► Parametric study is conducted, and results are presented in graphical and tabular form.
