The highly unusual outgassing of Comet 103P/Hartley 2 from narrowband photometry and imaging of the coma

► Secular decrease in production rates from 1991 to 1997/1998 to 2010/2011. ► Production rates peak ∼10 days post-perihelion and were higher post-perihelion. ► C2 and C3 coma morphology in general agreement with CN morphology. ► OH and NH coma morphology is enhanced throughout the anti-sunward hemisphere. ► Detected faint sunward-facing dust jet.
