Mars mesospheric zonal wind around northern spring equinox from infrared heterodyne observations of CO2

► We measure zonal wind velocities in the martian mesosphere by infrared spectroscopy. ► IR ground based observations provide spatial resolution. ► GCM predictions from the Mars Climate Database are mostly consistent with the observations.
