Study of cloud microphysical properties over India during CAIPEEX using a mesoscale model with new cloud microphysical scheme-Part I

► A two-moment mixed-phase cloud scheme used to study the cloud-aerosol interaction. ► Active and suppressed convection events are simulated over Indian peninsular region. ► The cloud microphysical properties reproduce well as compared with observation. ► Rainfall is also reasonably well simulated particularly in suppressed events. ► Inclusion of aerosols as CCN has a key role in the monsoon cloud system.
