Electric fields changes produced by positives cloud-to-ground lightning flashes

► We examine the electric field changes of prestroke processes in positive cloud-to-ground lightning flashes. ► Some characteristics of electric field signature of the return stroke pulse are also analyzed. ► Our results are compared with results from the few existing past studies in the literature.
