Study of the quasi-two-day wave during summer over Santa Maria, Brazil using meteor radar observations

► Quasi-two-day wave (QTDW) has been studied over Brazilian low latitudes during summer. ► Significant interannual variability is observed in the derived wave parameters. ► There is a modulation of the Q2DW amplitude by a wave of period ∼7-8 days. ► Interaction between the Q2DW and the diurnal tide is supposed to enhance the QTDW sometimes.
