Lunar tides in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere over Cachoeira Paulista (22.7°S; 45.0°W)

► The lunar semidiurnal tides in the MLT at Cachoeira Paulista were studied using meteor radar winds. ► Composite lunar day showed phase gradient consistent with an upward-propagating wave. ► Most of the year, mean northward wind amplitudes, over all heights, were larger than eastward. ► Mean eastward wind phases lead the northward, indicating characteristic of the Southern Hemisphere. ► Vertical wavelengths were long, but during the winter they were around few tens of kilometers.
