Dynamical amplification of the stratospheric solar response simulated with the Chemistry-Climate Model LMDz-Reprobus

► Dynamical feedbacks play an important role in driving the solar stratospheric response on short timescales. ► Solar responses in the NH are driven by the occurrence of stratospheric warmings and their timing. ► As a result successive positive and negative responses are observed during the course of the winter. ► The solar responses are driven by changes in planetary wave propagation and final warming. ► Due to the non-zonal nature of SSWs the NH stratospheric response presents high regional variability.
