Preparation, characterization and third order nonlinear optical properties of the bis(tetrabutylammonium)-[Cd(dmit)2] (dmit=2-thioxo-1,3-dithiol-4,5-dithiolate) for all-optical switching applications at blue-green light band

► Single crystals of TBA[Cd(dmit)2] were prepared and recrystallized from acetone. ► Typical single crystal with dimensions 5×4×1 mm3 has been obtained. ► Experiments show that TBA[Cd(dmit)2] crystals possess good physicochemical stability. ► Third-order nonlinearity indicates potential application in all-optical switching.
