Enhanced gap junction expression in myoblast-containing engineered tissue

► Skeletal myoblasts were isolated and expanded with high efficiency. ► These cells were used for producing tissue constructs, generating internal tensile stress. ► Tensile stress increased the expression of gap and adherens junction proteins.
