Selective destruction of mouse islet beta cells by human T lymphocytes in a newly-established humanized type 1 diabetic model

► Establish a human immune-mediated type 1 diabetic model in NOD-scid IL2rγnull mice. ► Using the irradiated diabetic NOD mouse spleen mononuclear cells as trigger. ► The islet β cells were selectively destroyed by infiltrated human T cells. ► The model can facilitate translational research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
