Rearrangements of electrochemically generated cation radicals: The quest for regiochemical control and an application to total synthesis

Herein we provide an overview of our efforts to achieve regiochemical control in the rearrangement of the cation radicals derived from housanes, and to apply the chemistry to the total synthesis of a natural product.
