A cDNA cloned from Physarum polycephalum encodes new type of family 3 β-glucosidase that is a fusion protein containing a calx-β motif

Thus, the membrane β-glucosidase is a new type family 3 enzyme fused with the Calx-β domain. We propose that Calx-β domain may modulate the β-glucosidase activity in response to changes in the Ca2+ concentration.
