► Lentiviral gene therapy prevents development of bone disease in murine MPS VII. ► Bone mineral volume and trabecular number are normalised. ► Cortical bone thickness is reduced. ► No correlation is observed between circulating enzyme levels and final bone mass. ► Bone length is unaltered.
