• LLE data of systems related to biodiesel production by the transesterification route.
• NRTL parameters were determined and UNIFAC parameters were tested.
• Distribution coefficient of DAG, MAG, and ester in both liquid phases were analyzed.
New liquid–liquid equilibrium (LLE) experimental measurements were obtained for systems composed of oil (canola and corn) + commercial mixtures of triacylglycerols, diacylglycerols and monoacylglycerols + ethyl ester (oleate and linoleate) and ethanol at T/K = 303.15 and 318.15. The LLE experimental data were used to estimate NRTL parameters and evaluate the UNIFAC ones. The average deviations related to mass fraction composition between experimental and calculated values by the NRTL model were less than 0.49%. Two different sets of UNIFAC binary interaction parameters were used to test their prediction capability. The original parameters could not describe well this kind of system, as expected. Nevertheless, an alternative set of parameters, obtained from literature was able to decrease the deviation values between experimental and calculated results.
