Rice heterotrimeric G-protein alpha subunit (RGA1): In silico analysis of the gene and promoter and its upregulation under abiotic stress

► Genomic sequence of rice Gα (RGA1) contains 13 exonic and 12 intronic segments. ► Promoter sequence RGA1 contains several stress related cis-regulatory motifs. ► RGA1 showed up regulation in responses to NaCl, cold and drought stress. ► RGA1 showed rhythmic and strong upregulation under heavy metal(loid)s stress. ► The study provides an evidence for role of RGA1 in regulation of abiotic stresses.
