Molecular characterization of stress resistance-related chitinase genes of Brassica rapa

► We identify thirty chitinase like genes and characterize them as different classes of chitinase. ► Genes show high degree of homology with other pathogenesis-related plant chitinases. ► All genes show high expression in different organs of Brassica rapa. ► Some genes respond after biotic and abiotic stress treatments in Brassica. ► These chitinase genes may involve in plant resistance against biotic and abiotic stresses.
