● This review discusses the role of 20-HETE in androgen-induced hypertension. ● 20-HETE is the cytochrome P450-derived ω-hydroxylated metabolite of arachidonic acid. ● 20-HETE promotes vasoconstriction and endothelial dysfunction. ● 20-HETE activates the RAS via induction of endothelial ACE. ● CYP4F2 polymorphism is associated with increased urinary 20-HETE and hypertension.
