Experimental measurement and prediction of dissociation condition for carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates in the presence of methanol/ethylene glycol + sodium chloride/magnesium chloride aqueous solution
چکیده انگلیسی

• Hydrate dissociation conditions for CO2 in the presence of inhibitor aqueous solution is reported.
• The inhibitors include: methanol + MgCl2, methanol + NaCl, ethylene glycol + MgCl2 and ethylene glycol + NaCl.
• All the experimental data were measured using an isochoric pressure-search method.
• The aqueous solutions have hydrate inhibition effect.
• The aforementioned data are compared with the predictions of a thermodynamic model.

Hydrate dissociation conditions of carbon dioxide in the presence of methanol/ethylene glycol + NaCl/MgCl2 aqueous solution have been measured and are reported in the temperature range of (259–267.4) K and pressures up to 2.93 MPa and different concentrations of the aforementioned hydrate inhibitors in aqueous solutions. All the experimental data were measured using an isochoric pressure-search method. These experimental data are compared with some selected experimental dissociation data from the literature for carbon dioxide clathrate hydrates in the presence of pure water to show the inhibition effect of the studied aqueous solutions. A previously reported thermodynamic model is employed to predict the experimental results and a brief discussion is made on the reliability of the predicted data.
