Vapour pressures and enthalpies of vaporization of a series of the linear n-alkyl acetates

Vapour pressures and the molar enthalpies of vaporization ΔlgHm of the linear aliphatic acetates C8–C16 have been determined by the transpiration method. Kovat’s indices of these compounds were measured by capillary gas-chromatography. A linear correlation of enthalpies of vaporization ΔlgHm at T = 298.15 K of the acetates studied with the Kovat’s indices as well as with the number of carbon atoms has been found.
