Formation and electrochemical behavior characterizations of dibromo 2,2′-bipyridine manganese(II) systems in DMF solution

The formation of complexes between MnBr2 and 2,2′-bipyridine in variable ratio occurs in DMF solutions. The manganese(II) complexes undergo stepwise quasi-reversible reductions. Two complexes, [MnBr2(bipy)] and [MnBr2(bipy)2], are prepared and their electrochemical behavior are presented and discussed.
