A simplified model to assess landscape quality from rural roads in Spain

► A simplified model is proposed for assessing the quality of landscapes from rural roads in Spain. ► 109 photographs were taken from sections of rural roads around Spain to assess the captured landscapes. ► The proposed model is represented by the following equation: total mean = −2.98 + 1.58 × vegetation + 1.01 × land use + 2.87 × form + 2.05 × texture.
