Helicobacter pylori : l’essentiel pour comprendre

L’infection à Helicobacter pylori, très répandue dans le monde, notamment dans les régions où l’hygiène fait défaut, touche 20 à 30% des adultes en France. À l’origine des gastrites chroniques, elle constitue la principale cause de survenue des ulcères gastroduodénaux et peut évoluer vers un cancer gastrique. L’éradication de Helicobacter pylori prévient cette complication chez les patients qui ne présentent pas de condition pré-néoplasique. Le diagnostic fait appel à la gastroscopie ou à des tests diagnostiques non invasifs.

Causing chronic gastritis, it constitutes the main cause for the occurrence of gastroduodenal ulcers and can evolve into gastric cancer. The eradication of Helicobacter pylori prevents this evolution in patients who do not present a preneoplastic condition. It is diagnosed using gastroscopy or non-invasive diagnostic tests.
