Role of Platelet-Monocyte Aggregation in the Onset of Acute Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases

Atherosclerosis is the main pathological basis of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Adhesion and aggregation of platelet and monocyte play an important role in patients with acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. This article reviews the molecular mechanism of aggregation formation, mechanism of inducing plaque rupture, pathogenesis of impacting acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease occurrence, targets of Chinese medicine and western medicine, corresponding monoclonal antibodies and gene knockout, etc. Problems that existed in the current study are also analyzed to arouse the attention of fellow researchers.
