Recommandations concernant l'arrêt cardiaque

Cardiac arrest is a major public health problem because of its frequency and poor prognosis. The quality of treatment has a real impact on the prognosis. Recommendations for a standardized processing are of upmost importance. The management of cardiac arrest is based on a survival chain including recognition, call for help, basic life support, defibrillation, advanced life support and postresuscitation care. The management must be conducted almost automatically and standardized to allow fewer interruptions of chest compression and early cardiac defibrillation. Intrahospital resuscitation should be further optimized. The latest French data document that it is still necessary to improve education of the population for an earlier management of cardiac arrest.
