Accidents vasculaires cérébraux postopératoires en chirurgie non cardiaque et non carotidienne

The incidence of stroke is low (0.15-0.34 %) after non-cardiac non carotid surgery, but 30 days mortality is high. Atrial fibrillation is the main cause of stroke postoperatively. It is critical to make the diagnosis within 4-6 h through MNR or CT-scan. Patients should be admitted in neurological intensive care unit to improve their management, which includes arterial thrombolysis, antiplatelet and anticoagulant agents.
