Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma: What Primary Care Professionals Need to Know

This article provides an overview of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Epidemiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, staging and classifications, early signs and symptoms, initial diagnostic evaluation, prognosis and treatment, and APN roles will be discussed. The incidence of non-Hodgkin lymphoma is rising. Most patients will initially present to their primary care providers with complaints of swelling of lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, or unintentional weight loss. It is important for primary care providers to recognize these signs and symptoms as non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
