Innovative use of technology in an online learning format is changing the landscape of nursing education. Use of online learning methodologies is becoming the mainstay of many nursing education programs. In this article we describe a theory-based, innovative approach to promote interprofessionality by offering a virtual clinic in the health sciences curriculum. The relationship of this virtual clinic to learning processes and outcomes in nursing online learning is discussed along with financial and technical considerations for successful technology integration into advanced nursing education.
