ZusammenfassungDas EEG ist die spezifischste Methode in der Diagnostik der Epilepsien. Die Sensititvität der Erfassung epilepsietypischer Potentiale ist jedoch relativ gering. Daher ist das Ziel der Diagnostik die Ausbeute an ETP zu optimieren. Dafür werden im EEG Aktivierungsverfahren durchgeführt. Die typischen Aktivierungsverfahren sind Hyperventilation, Photostimulation und Schlaf sowie Schlafentzug. In dieser Übersicht stellen wir diese Verfahren vor, geben praktische Tipps zur Durchführung und stellen typische Befunde dar.

SummaryEEG is the most specific tool to diagnose epilepsy. The sensitivity of the method is, however, poor for the first EEG. The diagnostic yield of EEG can be increased with activiation preocedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep recordings incl. preceding sleep deprivation. This review addresses these activiation precedures and provides tpyical examples.
