By gathering data regarding total costs of wound care, within the UCP the cost of malignant and palliative wounds were higher when compared to the chronic wounds within the UCE. With regard to the purpose of the treatment, the results do not establish a significant difference, but there are greater costs in the treatment of malignant and palliative wounds.
