Aneurismas de aorta ascendente: tratamiento quirúrgico

ResumenEn este capítulo se realiza una revisión general de la patología aneurismática de la aorta ascendente. Se describen las diferentes etiologías y formas de presentación, haciendo especial énfasis en la necesidad de obtener información o signos de sospecha de esta patología para realizar un diagnóstico precoz. Este diagnóstico, junto con un seguimiento de la progresión del aneurisma, es fundamental para indicar a tiempo el tratamiento quirúrgico y eludir la evolución natural hacia la rotura. Igualmente, se analizan las principales técnicas quirúrgicas disponibles.

A systematic review has been done in this chapter about ascending aortic aneurysms. Different etiologies and clinical presentations have been described focusing on the necessity of an early diagnosis in the managing of this disease. A proper diagnosis and follow-up are important issues to establish the timing of surgery and avoid aortic rupture. The most important operative techniques have also been described.
