Implication of the New Low-Density Lipoprotein Goals in Dyslipidemia Management of Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome

Decreasing the LDL-C target to less than 70 mg/dL substantially increases the number of patients with ACS who would require treatment. A significant proportion of patients will require a reduction in LDL-C level of 50% or more, which is not easily achievable with current lipid-lowering monotherapy.
