Rola infekcji wirusem Epsteina i Barr w schorzeniach głowy i szyi

The review article presents general characteristics of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), its role in head and neck pathology, but concentrating mostly on EBV as a carcinogenic agent in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and other malignancies with manifestation in head and neck region. The review concentrates on current concepts of EBV prevention, the significance of EBV presence in diagnosis of malignancies, actual tendencies of therapy directed on EBV, and monitoring of treatment results of abovementioned tumors.
