Métastases pancréatiques métachrones de carcinome à cellules rénales (CCR)

Pancreatic metastases from renal cell carcinoma (RCC) are rare and often asymptomatic. They usually appear a decade or so after the primary tumor. A long, ideally life-long, follow-up is required. The preoperative diagnosis is based on the medical history of the tumor after previous resection and the CT scan with injection which shows early contrast uptake. It can also evidence heterogeneous lesions. Neuroendocrine tumors are the only differential diagnosis. Surgical removal can improve the survival rate. Hence, we advocate curative resections when feasible.
