Effects of computer-based testing on test performance and testing motivation

► This study compared testing effects, time and motivation between CBT and PPT modes. ► Testing effects occurred in testing time and testing motivation for the PPT. ► The CBT has higher internal and external validity. ► It significantly reduced testing time. ► It developed stronger self-efficacy, intrinsic and social testing motivation.
