Training of the teacher in a foreign language requires taking into account many elements as the learning of the language, the acquaintance with the culture and the development of human qualities as being sensitized, creative and critical thinkers. In this article, I attempt to analyze literature in the training of the foreign language teacher. For this, some authors take place as part of the theoretical framework that supports the research, that is the case of Larrosa, Foucault, Maturana, Todorov, among others. This research presents a methodological orientation based on the hermeneutic analysis. As a result of this research, I observed that literature has a fundamental role in the training of the foreign language teacher, not only because of its properties in the presentation of the target language and culture but its capacity to trigger the development of critical thinking and sensitivity.
