Molecular characterization of the song control nucleus HVC in Bengalese finch brain

►Bengalese finch cDNA microarray was constructed. ►We screened the song nucleus HVC for specific genes with the microarray. ►Ca2+ binding proteins were highly expressed in the adult HVC ►We observed lower expression of plasticity-related genes in the adult HVC.
