► Morphological abnormalities were induced in zebrafish after cypermethrin exposure. ► MDA, SOD and CAT were significantly induced. ► Notable signs of apoptosis mainly in nervous system. ► Oxidative-DNA repair system, p53 and caspase pathway were involved. ► Zebrafish could used for evaluating ecological risk of environmental contaminants.
