Organochlorine pesticides, PCBs and mercury in antarctic and subantarctic seabirds

Variation in DDE and mercury residue levels for some of these species suggest that the biotypes in which they live are quite different, and that the Antarctic Convergence may have a major influence in protecting the Antarctic ecosystem from these pollutants.
