Severe weather reports and proximity to deep convection over Northern Argentina

► We examine the occurrence of severe weather events associated with deep convection. ► We study the cloud shield relative locations of the events. ► Heavy rainfall and present weather events concentrate to the northeast quadrant. ► Increasing sizes and lifetime of convection reveal different spatial features.
