A review of the cicada genus Semia Matsumura (Hemiptera: Cicadidae: Cicadini)

The cicada genus Semia Matsumura from East Asia is taxonomically reviewed. Pomponia lachna Lei and Chou and Terpnosia majuscula Distant are transferred to Semia to become Semia lachna (Lei and Chou) comb. nov. and Semia majuscula (Distant) comb. nov. A revised description of Semia is provided. Diagnoses and synonymic lists for the four species of Semia are provided. A key to the four Semia species is also provided.
