Attenuation of shallow microearthquakes at Abu Simbel area, south Egypt

► Fourteen earthquakes are used to study attenuation of microearthquakes at Abu Simbel area. ► Data with signal-to-noise ratio more than 2 in all the frequency bands greater than 2. ► QP was estimated by single-station method, while the displacement spectra by (FFT). ► Variation of QP as a function of frequency, according to the power law. ► Q = Q0fn was observed. ► The frequency dependence coefficient n ranging between 0.4 and 1.2 for P waves.
