Timing the structural events in the Palaeoproterozoic Bolé-Nangodi belt terrane and adjacent Maluwe basin, West African craton, in central-west Ghana

► A Paleoproterozoic intra-oceanic arc-backarc system is advocated. ► The Eoeburnean reveals complex cycles of arc tectonics of amphibolite grade. ► Sawla granitoids and Maluwe epiclastics formed during backarc rifting. ► N-ward subduction folded the Maluwe Group and produced the Tanina Suite. ► D2 thrusting formed D1 features in Tanina, older Sunyani and Bui forearc units.
