- The reorganization energy of the Fe2 +/3 + system contributes mostly to kAu0/kPt0.

Electron transfer rate constant decreases gradually for a Fe2+/3+ redox system as platinum deposition covers a gold surface. This effect is assumed to be conditioned by reconstruction of double electric layer on a platinum deposit which increases reorganization energy and decreases the redox reaction rate constant.
