Novel application of EDTA-modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles as an antidote agent in iron overdose cases is reported. The synthetic method resulted in the formation of nano-sphere with remarkable sizes <Â 50Â nm with hydrodynamic sizes <Â 200Â nm. The efficiency of these materials was tested in vitro and in vivo in adsorbing ferrous sulfate which is a supplement normally prescribed in treating iron deficiency and its overdose is potentially lethal. Totally, the modified nanoparticles have remarked as powerful antidote agent, and have potent to be applied as commercial antidote agent.79
