Capital income and income inequality: Evidence from urban China

► Capital income increased significantly in urban China from 1988 to 2009. ► Compared to wage and other income, capital income was distributed most unequally. ► The contribution of capital income to total inequality had been growing. ► But it was still small due to the low share of capital income in total income.
