Negligible interaction of [Ru(Phen)3]2+ with human serum albumin makes it promising for a reliable in vivo assessment of the tissue oxygenation

The properties of Ru-complex in the presence of albumin were investigated with several spectroscopic techniques. Only a negligible effect of albumin on the absorption, luminescence and Raman spectra, as well as oxygen sensitivity of Ru-complex was observed. Thermal stability of albumin was not affected in the presence of Ru-complex.118
