Rational composition control of mixed-lanthanide metal-organic frameworks by an interfacial reaction with metal ion-doped polymer substrates

[EuxTb2−x(bdc)3(H2O)4]n crystals with a tunable metal composition could be routinely prepared on polymer substrates by controlling the composition of lanthanide ion (Eu3+ and Tb3+) dopants in polymer substrates to be used as metal ion precursors and scaffolding for the formation of MOFs.259
